The Better Business Bureau, which grades businesses based on their integrity and performance as measured by their quickness and fairness in handling complaints, has given Google a C-. In comparison Yahoo!, Microsoft, and AT&T received A+ and Apple and Verizon Wireless received B+ and B respectively.
In giving the low score to Google the BBB stated:
Our complaint history for this company shows that the company responded to and gave proper consideration to most complaints. However, more than one complaint is unresolved meaning the company failed to properly address the complaint allegations or their response was inadequate.
To recieve a higher score, Google needed to respond to 47 (Yes, 47!) complaints in a timely manner. Instead Google decided to respond to zero. The company is notorious for skimping on the customer support department as evidenced in the Nexus One fiasco. [Geek]
