RUMOR: NOOK2 COMING?

Hard to believe Barnes and Noble's ebook reader, the Nook, was launched a year ago.  Now rumors are swirling that a new Nook is on the way and will arrive very soon.  The giant book retailer has sent out media invites for an October 26th event at their Union Square store.

Additionally, an upgrade to the firmware for the Nook will be released late next month promising faster page turns, better search, custom library organization, password protection and Nook's own version of Amazon's WhisperSync technology.

The rumors also state a lower price for the Nook 2.  It is highly unlikely we will see much of a departure from the original form factor though.  Barnes and Noble will most likely concentrate on those things that users dislike and problems of the current version. [Geek]
