AVERAGE US TEEN SENDS 3,339 TEXTS PER MONTH

Analytics company Nielsen analyzed the cellular habits of 3,000 teens, aged 13-17, in April, May and June.  The report found teens send an average of 3,339 text messages per month.  In contrast 18-24 year olds only sent an average of 1,630 texts per month.

Males only sent roughly 2,539 texts on average while females sent an amazing 4,050 or 135 texts per day.  Text messaging overall regardless of age is up but teens clearly take the lead.
