Verizon's Chief Executive Ivan Seidenberg at an investor's conference stated that Verizon Wireless would be moving to tiered data plans in four to six months. The plans would be different than their closest rival AT&T, who introduced tiered data plans in June of this year.
Currently Verizon Wireless charges customers $29.99/month for unlimited data access. AT&T's introduced two plans to replace their unlimited offering, one for with a 200MB limit for $15 and the other with a 2GB limit for $25 with additional fees for going over the limits for both plans.
No word on pricing or caps from Verizon Wireless at this time, but with the coming LTE markets being lit up by end of year, an announcement should be forthcoming relatively soon. [WSJ]
