Adidas has announced they are pulling their $10 million campaign from Apple's mobile advertising division iADS. The sportswear maker is the second company to drop their campaigns from the iAD platform, Chanel dropped out in August. Business Week's Dan Frommer is reporting that Adidas is giving up on iAD due to "creative differences" with Apple. Adidas is alleging Apple's Steve Jobs is a "control freak". Apple has rejected three of Adidas's campaigns and was facing a fourth round of revisions.
Unlike other mobile advertising platforms iAD does not have an SDK and Apple produces all the creative material behind the presentations. While the iAD platform was launched with 17 companies commiting millions of dollars, only 6 have actually produced any ads. Most companies are find the process to cumbersome and difficult to navigate with Apple's notoriously control having a negative impact. [PC Mag]
