MICROSOFT CO-FOUNDER SUES 11 COMPANIES

Ars Technica has a great article up concerning the recent lawsuit Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has filed against 11 companies.  The companies including, Google, Apple, Facebook, NetFlix, YouTube and Yahoo are named as defendants for violating four patents owned by Paul Allen's company Interval Licensing LLC.

According to the article the patents revolve around three main concepts.  The first is the use of a browser for navigating through information.  Second, managing a users peripheral attention while using a device and third alerting users to items of current interest.  These collectively address the concept of  presenting searched-for information to a user along with related articles, media, status updates, or data.
