Intel is close to a purchase of Infineon Technologies wireless unit according to a Bloomberg report. Infineon is the maker of the processors for the iPhone. Intel is said to be offering $1.5 billion euros or about $1.91 billion dollars.
"Intel's big strategy is to be at the heart of computing everywhere" according to Alex Gauna, an analyst at JMP Securities LLC in San Francisco.
