WINDOWS PHONE 7 WILL NOT ALLOW TETHERING

Earlier this week Director of Windows Phone 7, Brandon Watson, stated on a TWiT (This Week in Tech) podcast that Windows Phone 7 (WP7) would allow for tethering and it would be up to the carriers to allow it.  A spokesperson for Microsoft quickly dispelled that by stating that Watson misspoke and "“Windows phone 7 does not support tethering.”

That is a pretty emphatic denial.  It does leave one to wonder if tether is in the OS and not enabled or if they have stripped it out all together. [BGR]
