VERIZON LAUNCHING RECOVERY SERVICE TOMORROW

Verizon Wireless has announced they are launching a new service dubbed Mobile Recovery.  This service will be available for smartphones, starting tomorrow, Friday September 17, 2010.  It will be available for Android, Windows Mobile, webOS and Blackberry phones for those that have Total Equipment Coverage (TEC).  Verizon states: "Once enrolled in TEC, which is complete coverage against loss, theft, accidental damage and defects after the manufacturer’s warranty expires, customers can visit www.MyMobileRecovery.com to download the Mobile Recovery application, or text getmr to 6967 for download instructions.”

Mobile Recovery will have several features including:


  • Device location using GPS
  • Sound alarms
  • Remote device lock
  • Remote device wipe
