LEAKED: TWITTER BUYS TWEETDECK FOR $50 MILLION

According to source speaking to TechCrunch, Twitter purchased the popular third-party client TweetDeck for between $40 and $50 million on Monday. The Wall Street Journal originally reported that Twitter was in “advanced talks” to purchase TweetDeck – a 15 person company – back in April. Sources speaking to TechCrunch said that Twitter made the purchase in an effort to stop Uber Media, another third party company with a handful of Twitter applications across multiple platforms, from buying TweetDeck first. Neither company has officially announced the acquisition, yet.

LEAKED: VERIZON DROPS $15 DATA PLAN

Verizon is killing off its $15 150MB data plan for smartphones altogether, instead corralling folks into the $30 unlimited option. Of course, with the proliferation of data-hungry smartphone apps on Android (and soon, the iPhone), 250MB per month of usage is becoming less and less reasonable by the day, so we can't say we're terribly surprised. Meanwhile, the $9.99 25MB feature phone data option is getting a bump up to 75MB with $10 per 75MB overage, a slight drop from the 20 cent / MB overage that those customers deal with currently. Finally, you'll notice that the $30 unlimited plan is now qualified as applying to "feature phones and 3G smartphones," not merely "smartphones" as they were before -- a nod to the fact that Verizon's upcoming LTE handsets won't be eligible for the same pricing.

LEAKED: PLAYSTATION PHONE

There have been rumors swirling around for quite awhile now about a Playstation Phone or a PSP Phone.  Well, the fine folks at Engadget have gotten their hands a photograph of this mysterious device.

It supposedly has a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 chip, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and support for microSD cards. It's speculated that it will run Android 3.0 and offer a custom Sony Marketplace.  Not much else is known at this time. [Gizmodo]

APPLE CONFIRMS WHITE iPHONE

Yesterday we reported about a rumor surrounding the elusive white iPhone 4.  Now, Apple has confirmed the device and it will be released "Spring of next year".  Apple has had numerous delays of the white iPhone due to the inability to match the color across the supply line.  Could Apple be timing the release to coincide with the rumored Verizon iPhone?  Why release it in Spring if a new iPhone will launch in June/July?  Tell us your thoughts in the comments. LEAKED: WHITE iPHONE SHOWS UP IN APPLE STORE APP UPDATE

Has Apple finally gotten the color issues resolved with the white iPhone that was promised back in June?  It appears so if the update to the Apple Store app is to be believed.  Version 1.1 of the Apple Store app has the elusive white iPhone listed under the 'Reserve Products' screen.  Users can't actually reserve one yet, but this could be further evidence the much sought after iPhone is finally on its way. LEAKED: GOOGLE PAGE PREVIEWS

It appears Instant Search wasn't the only new thing Google has been testing lately.  A new ability to preview pages in the search screen has been leaked.  Google has not responded to confirmation requests,nor have they denied it either. [TechCrunch]

LEAKED: SUBARU FT-86 STI COUPE

Road and Track have gotten their hands on some spy shots of the upcoming 2012 Subaru FT-86 STI Coupe.  The coupe is being jointly developed with Toyota.  The magazine says "the bump on the hood of this test vehicle hints at there being a high performance STI-spec powertrain lurking under the sheet-metal. A front-mounted intercooler can just be spotted in the lower grille opening. A 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-4 engine will likely power this 2+2 coupe—somewhere in the region of 300-bhp and all-wheel-drive seems a safe bet for the range-topping STI edition. A 2.0-liter flat-4 is the most probable choice for the base model."

Both the Subaru and Toyota models are expected to go on sale late 2011 for the 2012 model year and are expected to be priced under $25,000.
