You would think that auto manufacturers would give the Toyota Prius some praise for being one of the first popular mass produced EV hybrid vehicles, but you would be wrong. GM CEO Dan Akerson speaking to the Economic Club of Washinton, DC described the Prius as a "geek-mobile" and stated he "wouldn't be caught dead in a Prius."
Toyota didn't exactly take too kindly to Akerson's diss and released a statement to the New York Times:
"Toyota has sold more than two million Prius hybrids worldwide, and counting. Those buyers can't all be geeks."What's wrong with being a geek? What's with the geek-hate? Does this guy realize that it if the geeks that built the GM saving Volt? Should there be a boycott of GM products by geeks until Akerson apologizes?
