Yahoo! has announced their popular IM client, Yahoo! Messenger will be coming to the iPhone and Android devices. Yahoo's VP of Mobile David Katz says the IM client will be cross platform and allow for video chat. It will reportedly work over both Wi-Fi and 3G connections and freely conduct video calls with any other device running Yahoo! Messenger, including web cam equipped PCs.
The new Yahoo! Messenger has been confirmed for the T-Mobile MyTouch and has been submitted to the iTunes App Store for review. Yahoo! is launching the product into an already crowded field that includes Qik, Fring and Tango, but it's name recognition should help it to rise to the top of the pack fairly quickly. [Engadget]
