MISSED DECIMAL PLACE LEADS TO ONE HUGE MONSTER SLIPPER
When Tom Boddingham decided to invest in a new pair of monster claw slippers, he had no idea what was about to be shipped to him from the manufacturers. Tom actually put in a special order seeing as his left foot is larger than his right. He needed a size 14 (UK sizes) for his right foot and requested a 14.5 for his left. His order went through company Monster Slippers, who passed the details on to their manufacturing partner, most likely located in China. The problem is, the factory overlooked the decimal point for the left slipper.
The parcel that arrived at Tom’s home must have looked a little large for slippers. Inside he found the size 14 right claw slipper as requested. But his left slipper? It was 7 feet long. The failure to see the decimal point had created a slipper of size 1,450. It’s so big Tom can actually sit inside it.
Monster Slippers got in touch with the factory asking them why the huge slipper wasn’t queried before being made and shipped. Apparently they just assumed it was for a window display. The plan for Tom is now to sell the slipper for a quick profit on eBay, but Monster Slippers want to find out if it belongs in the Guinness World Records, and if so would like to keep it.
