LEAK: WINDOWS PHONE MANGO RTM

For those who've longed for Twitter integration and multitasking capabilities on your Windows Phone, the folks at xda-developers have a weekend project you're bound to flip over: the final version of Mango has leaked, and it's available for download today. Internally, it's known as build 7720, and it requires the post-NoDo update dubbed 7392. Alternately, users of Mango beta versions 7661 and 7712 may hop on board, too. If you've got a couple hours to spare, a full list of instructions -- along with the operating system itself -- is included in the source. So far, the software has been confirmed to work on the HD7, Mozart, Trophy, Focus, Arrive, Venue Pro and Optimus 7. As always, proceed at your own risk, and best wishes for your tropical getaway.

APPLE'S OS X LION GOES GOLD

Apple on Friday seeded the Gold Master build of its OS X 10.7 Lion operating system to developers. The build number is 11A511, and the download is available immediately on Apple’s developer site. Barring the discovery of any major issues, the Gold Master code is likely to be unchanged in the release version of Lion, which will launch to the public later this month. Apple announced recently that OS X Lion will be distributed via the Mac App Store rather than using physical media discs, and it will cost just $29.

DUKE NUKEM FOREVER GOES GOLD, RELEASING IN JUNE

Back in January, Gearbox Software released a Duke Nukem Forever trailer, and our inner 13 year-old -- only a lascivious gleam in his father's eye when the game was first announced! -- thrilled to its potty humor, gratuitous violence, and mosaic-obscured lady parts. We were skeptical about the promised May release date, since DNF has long been gaming's answer to Chinese Democracy, and sure enough that got bumped to June 10 (international) and 14 (North America). But now the game has gone gold, meaning real-life physical copies, rather than just one of gaming's longest running vaporware jokes.

SPRINT CLARIFIES CHANGES TO LOYALTY PROGRAM

Last week we reported about Sprint's changes to its "loyalty" program. Sprint is now clarifying its position regarding the new tiers.

Gold Level

A gold level member will receive 25% off the purchase of 2 or more accessories, customer news letters, “just because” perks, first to buy offers, and the ability to upgrade one device after 12 months of service. To qualify for a Premier Gold membership, users must have an individual monthly plan costing $89.99 or more or a family plan costing $169.99 (before any applicable discounts).

Silver Level

A silver level member will receive the same benefits as gold members — 25% off the purchase of 2 or more accessories, customer news letters, “just because” perks, and first to buy offers — but will not have the ability to upgrade a device after 12 months of service. To qualify for a Premier Silver membership, users must have an individual monthly plan costing between $69.99 and $89.98 or a family plan costing between $99.99 and $169.98 (before any applicable discounts).

Any customer, regardless of rate-plan price, that has been with Sprint over ten years will automatically qualify for Premier Gold. [BGR]

APPLE RELEASES NEW VERSION OF SNOW LEOPARD TO DEVS

Apple released a new beta of is Snow Leopard operating system to developers on Thursday. OS X 10.6.6 beta 2 comes almost a month after the first beta release of the OS, and it is listed as a Gold Master edition for developers accessing it through the Mac App Store developer program. In addition, “developer support for fetching and renewing App Store receipts,” is among the listed changes. This could mean that a public release of OS X 10.6.6 and the Mac App Store are imminent. APPLE iOS 4.2 GOES GOLD

Apple has moved their iOS 4.2 from beta to GM bringing multitasking freedom to all. The new version has been released for iPhone Developer Program subscribers so retail should follow shortly. Besides the iPad, Apple is also providing releases for the second through fourth generation iPod Touch, the iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4. Apple did makes some last minute tweaks to the build to add fast access to brightness, volume and AirPlay controls right from the multitasking bar. [Engadget]

GOLD DISPENSING ATMS COMING TO U.S.

Ever been out and found yourself a few grams of gold short?  Now all your troubles are solved.  Gold to Go vending machines are now coming to the U.S.  These ATM style machines will take your old nasty dirty paper money (or credit card) and spit out fresh 1, 5, 10 or 28 gram 24-carat gold bars.  You can opt to receive international coins from South Africa, Australia or Canada as well.  The machine will call back to the German headquaters to check gold prices six times per hour.  Hundreds have been slated for introduction to the U.S. with Las Vegas and Florida being the test areas.
