Nike is sending out invites to an event tonight where it’s strongly believed that the Nike Air Mag will be unveiled. Several not-so-subtle hints are included in the goodie box received by lucky invitees, including a bottle of Throwback Pepsi, a pair of wraparound shades just like those worn by Doc Brown, some nostalgia-inspiring candy, and the invite itself.
The Air Mag is expected to be a version of the self-lacing shoes worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future II. Since 2007 a grassroots campaign has been aimed at Nike to produce the magical shoes and with the invite and a recent patent filing it looks like those grassroots folks have succeeded.
